As part of President Eduardo Ochoa's investiture, a Day of Service and Learning was held on Nov. 16 to recognize CSU Monterey Bay's unique commitment to service and community engagement.
The theme for the day was "Building Connections, Building Community."
More than 400 members of the campus community – students, staff and faculty – spent part of the day at 30 sites around the area. Student clubs and athletic teams worked as a groups. Just two examples of the student groups that participated: the men's soccer team worked with the Latino Club at Seaside High School on a painting project; the women's softball team read to youngsters at the Cesar Chavez library in Salinas.
