Museum director kicks off visiting artist series

Nina Simon – called a “visionary” by Smithsonian Magazine – wants people to be excited about museums.

She told the Santa Cruz Sentinel: “To me, a great museum is like a great dinner party – somebody greets you at the door and says, ‘I’m so glad you’re here. Let me introduce you to everyone.’”

Annual dinner, auction raises money for student scholarships

Local TV personality Hunter Finnell will help auction off dozens of items – including tickets to the Panetta Lecture Series, the Los Angeles and Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festivals, jewelry from Tiffany, lavish dinners and lots of wine – at the 14th annual Have a Heart for Students dinner and auction at California State University, Monterey Bay on Feb. 25.
