Largest enrollment in CSUMB's history 

Aug. 23 was move-in day at California State University, Monterey Bay, where incoming students said hello to new roommates and goodbye to parents.

Over the weekend, freshmen and new transfer students were joined by returning students for the start of school on Aug. 26.

Total enrollment for the fall semester is expected to be 5,700, including 866 freshmen, 739 transfers and 150 international students. Thirty-five percent of this year’s class comes from Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties.

On-campus housing is full, with half of all students residing in university residence halls and apartments.
